Bridging
The function of a bridge is similar to a repeater in so much that it is used for interconnecting LAN segments
When bridges are used, however, all frames received from a segment are buffered (stored) and error checked before they are repeated (forwarded)
They are susceptible to broadcast storms, several broadcasts transmitted at the same time
